Repurpose/Recycle - Wanted: old towels, tshirts, material scraps, etc

and possibly old jeans. To go along with doing things greener and finding new uses for old belongings, I have some projects I want to start, but it will take A LOT of old towels and t-shirts and jeans. I don't mind stains as long as there aren't any hazardous chemicals on them. I also prefer them clean, though I will be washing everything before and after I use it. Please help me out. Holes? no problem.

I will also take worn out blankets, material scraps, sheets, etc. Anything to keep this stuff out of the landfills.

Pass this info off to anyone you know of who is getting rid of stuff.

A Mother's Love

I had a thought today - there are so many songs and stories about a mother's relationship with her daughter, a father's relationship with his daughter - and I can't bring anything to mind about a parent's love for the son. Why is that, I wonder? It doesn't make sense to me. I guess that I just need to write something, which I will once I have my brain back.

I held Sebastian on my lap tonight as he fell asleep. He's always so active and crazy and running around. I don't get much of an opportunity to hold him. I looked at his face as he slept and just melted with love for him. He looked so peaceful and angelic and beautiful. He can be such a brat sometimes, but it's really that he's strong willed and stubborn and knows his mind. He's a tough one and I love his strong personality. He's also a tender hearted, sensitive little love. He loves his sister. I love watching him with her - he'll randomly come over and stroke her hair, hold her hand, make her smile and laugh. He really can't leave her alone. Even after he told me he doesn't like her anymore (silly kiddo), he was hugging and snuggling her minutes later.

I love my little boy so much. He's growing up so fast. Today, we went to a park and played. I watched him running around and it was like he was flashing between my baby boy and a big kid. Watching him run is so adorable. He's so earnest and intent. The past 3 1/2 years have just flown by. I feel like he's growing faster than I can handle. I'm understanding so much more what my parents went through - the worrying, the aching, the anxiety - and he's not even a teenager yet.

He told me today that I'm his best friend and asked me if he is my best friend. I told him yes and that he will always be my favorite Sebastian. He interrupted his play a number of times to run over and hug me and tell me how much he loves me. No matter what else he does, those moments tell me I'm doing it right. I love this little boy so much more than I ever thought possible.

Please welcome Camille Rose

This post is long overdue and will probably be fairly image intensive.

Camille was born on December 29 at 1:11 pm. I was in labor for a little over 2 1/2 hours. I would have had her at home if I had fiddle-farted around any longer. We checked into the hospital at 12:10 and she was born an hour later. I couldn't believe how fast it all went, compared with how long Sebastian took to get here. Of course, considering that she was 2 days late, maybe she just decided that once it was time to come, it was time to come. She was 7 lbs 10 oz and 20 inches long.

Smiles - 2/21/2009

Today we had her 2 month check up. I can't believe how quickly it's all gone by. The last few months of pregnancy dragged on forever and I thought it was never going to end. All fo a sudden, I have a 2 month old infant and not a newborn. She is such an unbelievable joy. Anyway, here are all the particulars:

She weighed in at 10 lbs 6 oz, 23 inches long and her head is now 39.5 cm. She has gained 3 pounds and 3 inches since she was born. She is in the 75th percentile for height and the 50th percentile for weight. Her head is in the 75th percentile for her height and weight proportion.

She is perfect, developmentally She smiles and giggles and gurgles at us. She's holding her head more and more steady every day.She eats like a horse and is generally just an awesome, sweet baby. Her disposition is very similar to what Sebastian's was at this point. This could bode well, or ill, depending on how you look at it ;) hahaha

Sebastian loves his little sister, although the other day he told me he doesn't like her anymore. Shortly after, he was hugging and kissing her and telling her how much he loves her. Ah siblings. It's so interesting to watch him interact with her.

She got 3 shots today and has been a cranky grumpy baby. *sigh* She is finally asleep and I, for once, am exhausted and ready for bed before midnight. So, once I finish watching BG, I will be heading to bed and to sleep. My hormones are seriously out of whack. I wouldn't say I have post partum depression, but I am noticing that I am MUCH more sensitive and tender - quicker to anger, super teary a lot of the time - usually for no reason, and completely drained of all energy most of the time. I will be talking to my midwife about this when I go in on Wednesday for my IUD placement.

There you go. Super exciting, right?

Laughing so hard it hurts

I've spent a good portion of the evening screwing around on Facebook and not really paying attention to what's on tv. I've had it on as background noise - but something caught my attention.

Bill Cosby as Himself

Ho-Lee Cow.

Having just gone through childbirth for the second time, I am laughing SO MUCH HARDER than I ever have watching this before. It is so much funnier now that I've gone through it and am a parent. Say what you will about Bill Cosby, but he has hit the nail on the head with this.

Poor Camille kept getting jiggled and startled. She might be scarred for life hearing mom caterwauling like that.

Holy crap I am laughing so hard!!!!!!!!
